Description

Under the general direction of the Director of Finance, the Bank Reconciliation Officer will ensure that bank accounts maintained by the Commission at commercial banks are reconciled monthly. The Officer will also ensure checks and balances of the amounts in the ledger agree with the financial statement.

 

 

 

Core functions are but not limited to:

 

        monitors all banking activities in order to detect irregularities;

 

        Investigates all transactions in order to prevent fraud;

 

     provides feedback to the accounting department on how to improve on internals control and also pinpoint areas where risks relating to banking transactions can be minimized;

        books all bank charges and reconciles entries to the general ledger;

 

        provides documentation for the purpose of supporting all financial transaction;

 

        prepares monthly bank reconciliation reports regarding all cash deposits to the bank(s);

 

     assists auditors – internal and external – with documentation required for the auditors to do their job satisfactorily;

     performs the reconciliation and verification of accounts regarding cash at hand and cash at bank;

        reconciles and processes transactions that are complex in nature;

 

        maintains required files, reports and data;

 

        provides support to the Salary Unit;

 

        reconciles and rectify all ledger accounts belong to customers;

 

        reconciles accounts that fall into receivable records with the sales invoice;

 

        adheres to corporate standards and procedures in all reconciliation activities;

 

        reconciles discrepancies in different accounts.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

        First Degree preferably in Accounts, Finance, Business Administration, Management or

Economics  or

        ACCA Fundamental or equivalent or

        Qualification for entry level position plus at least two years accounting experience

 

Salary - $ 1,506,370 - $ 1,790,601
