DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES:

  • Receive customers’ requests, queries/ enquiries and deal with them promptly.
  • Give personal attention to each customer seeking to close and transfer savings account.
  • Prepare and issue duplicate passbooks and passcards
  • Process letter transactions e.g. bearer bringing in letters from account holders to effect withdrawal.
  • Investigate funds deposited to the Society through foreign banks as well as salary deductions
  • Deal with customers bringing in legal documents e.g. death certificates, letters of administration, declaration of next of kin, change of name by deed pole, where wife reverting to maiden name etc. when these documents are associated with the withdrawal.
  • Hypothecate savings accounts and give information on Share Loans
  • Close Home Plans Accounts, give information as well as make changes on Home Plan Accounts
  • Provide upon request, correct information about the Society’s savings and investment instruments, programmes and policies.
  • Assist customers with interbranch transfer of their accounts.
  • Check signatures and other documentation related to withdrawals and approve for
  • payment.
  • Open new accounts
  • Be a part of a team to visit schools and other business places (when called upon to do so) with a view to providing information about the Society’s savings and investment programmes
  • Add hold codes and delete hold codes
  • Liaise with other members of staff in the area in order to complete transaction with minimum delay
  • Capture signatures in passbooks/passcards, check balances, do change of address and update signatures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, and Operations Manager.
  • Conduct In-branch training sessions.
  • Participate in promotional activities as necessary.
  • Refer new and existing business.
  • Ensure that the information for which you have access is handled in accordance with the Society’s Information Security (IS) Policy.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by Customer Service Supervisor/Branch Leader
    • Bachelors of Science Degree from a recognized tertiary institution
    • Three (3) years’ progressive experience.
    • Knowledge of the Society’s operations with respect to savings and investment instruments and their corresponding procedures essential
    • Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering Procedures
